Review: Adore Me & Paili/Arabella

Whew! This review has been a little rough just getting to this stage.

I had previously read a blog post/review of Adore Me by the Lingerie Addict (read it here), so I had some expectations going into this, but I saw an add for your first set for only $20 and had to give it a try.

I knew that the bras in my size were all from Affinitas, so I looked at some of my go-to sites for reviews. It took me all day to decide, but I ordered the Kimberly bra and panty set (Adore Me calls it the Leona).

Now, when you sign up, you only get the $20 set if you register for the VIP membership, which is where they charge your card each month and you get to pick some lingerie. They send you an email before charging, so you can choose to skip a month.

Ok, ok. I signed up. I went with slow shipping because it's free and I'm cheap.

Then I got this in the mail:

box is a little beat up
but it's all "pretty". i hate pink.
I knew about the relabeling. Of course that's the first thing I checked out. I was shocked at how poorly and obviously it was done.

sewn right on top
you can see where they cut out the old tag
they think the sticker there is sneaky. i guess
old tag fibers
I really expected more, but oh well. I tried it on. I had ordered up a cup size based on the reviews on other sites. By the way, Adore Me uses US sizing, and goes up to an I, so that's what I got.

The set is adorable. I love pinstripes. The fit, on the other hand, was horrid. The band was too tight and I was spilling out everywhere. *Le Sigh*

Failed attempt. I went online and found the exchange page. It was actually really easy. I filled out a little form, got a printable return mailing label, and got an email with a code to get another set for free. So ease of use has been pretty good.

I picked the Arabella set for my next try, or Paili as they call it (is that even a real name?). I went up to a 34I, so up one band and another cup. Time to wait again.

The box was beat up again, and filled with pink tissue paper again. The tags were much better and look like they were done by the manufacturer.

The fit is, well, it's OK. The 34 band is a little loose, and the cups *barely* fit my boobs, but it fits enough for $20. The girls are a little wider than I'm used to, and the textured cups show under thin and/or light colored fabrics, but it looks good under a dark tshirt.

The panties are super comfy! And sexy, with their see-through back side. I will totally wear them even without the bra.
no pics of these on - gotta avoid the creepers
So what's my final conclusion?

Meh.

Affinitas bras just don't fit me well, and if that's the only brand Adore Me is going to relabel, then I'll pass. I got a nice deal on this set, but just barely. If Affinitas fit you well, then yeah, check it out. They really are good deals on the bra and panty sets.

I will be canceling my account and heading back over to True&Co. who now carries bras in my size. And lets you try on a handful and keep what fits. Yes yes. In other good news, my town is getting a Nordstrom Rack in October! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they stock lots of bras in my size range.

  1. I tried Adore Me because there was a lot of cute items, but unfortunately they are not made for bigger girls. The items that are for Plus size are not nearly as cute.

  3. . They automatically charge you 40 dollars a month when you make a purchase. I tried to get refunded and they would only refund one month because they have a 30 day no refund policy. STAY AWAY

  4. I had a TERRIBLE experience with this company! They are a bunch of crooks. I placed an order today and when i received the order confirmation it said that i had joined their VIP club for $40 a month! I didnt see anything about that when i was placing the order. I called the company to unsubscribe from the service and cancel the order and the woman on the phone was SO rude. She kept saying there was nothing she could do and that id just have to deal with it. I asked to be transferred about 20 times and she just kept telling me she couldnt transfer me. The only thing i could do was call my credit card company and cancel my card so they couldnt charge it in the future. Please learn from my mistake and stay away from this company!

  5. I had the same issue where they would only refund me one month. The girl convinced me to freeze my account with them so I wouldn't get charged for 3 months (or something like that) and I could give them another try. I did find a good sale a few weeks ago but there was a glitch on the site and they took too long to get back to me (because my e-mail went to their "Spam folder") so I missed the sale. They were extremely unhelpful and unapologetic and wouldn't help me even though I had a freaking screen shot showing my cart long before the sale ended. GRRR! So I just got an e-mail that my freeze is ending and they'll start charging me again. Heck no! I'm done with them. So I called to cancel and this girl tells me that I have to call in february because that's when my freeze ends. There's no possible way for these people to cancel my account before my freeze is over... WHAT?! Yeah, definitely over this company after this kind of service. Too bad I actually kinda like the stuff I got there, I would've continued if they had better customer service. I don't have time to argue on the phone with someone or wait 3 days for an e-mail every time there's an issue. Back to Victoria's Secret :-)

  6. Really, really poor customer service. I do NOT adore them.

  7. How was your experience with getting unsubscribed?

Mine was horrific. Every time I called, I was given a new date to cancel and when I called back on the date provided by their customer service, I was told that I would be charged an extra $35 (even after I returned my unopened item) if I didn't wait to unsubscribe at a later date. And this was all because they automatically signed me up for a VIP membership I didn't even want. Terrible service, terrible company.

I hope you had better luck than I did. And for those who are interested in Adore Me, I suggest you review their complaints on the Better Business Bureau and Site Jabber before you do.

  9. I accidentally placed an order for the wrong size and called them within an hour to change the size and/or cancel the order if that was not possible. They told me that they could not do either. That I would have to wait for the package to arrive, then take it to the post office for a return to either switch sizes or get a refund. Terrible business practices. Ordered from them several times before but will not again in the future. However, I will be posting reviews so other folks won't have to deal with the same issue.

  10. You people can not seriously be for real. I love these guys, the VIP membership discount was pretty obvious. I also (like almost every other person in america) read the reviews before I made a purchase so I knew to look for it.

They have new stuff thats not by Afinitas and I freakin LOOVE it. I think this company gets bagged on because people don't take responsibility for their own stupidity and inability to read.

  11. Awful.
I called 7 times just to get refunded. I had around $60 taken from my bank account and am getting only $30 back. An associate hung up on me while talking to me as well. It was not a disconnection because I clearly heard her click the phone to hang up. They do not make it clear that you are signing up for a "VIP membership" when you buy something, so that was fun to find out. I called to cancel and had to call multiple times because no one cancelled anything and I then got charged. They had horrible customer service! I asked questions and everyone gave me a different total as to what I was going to be refunded. I also then asked for a manager and was told they were not present. As an associate in retail, I know there should ALWAYS be a manager on site. The apparel was mediocre and looked cheap so I returned it. Do research before deciding to use this company because there are many reviews I've found stating that they just re tag their sets from other lingerie brands.

  13. Buying lingerie online has its own challenge. You can only see the pictures and read the specification info, but can’t touch and fit it directly. Sometimes you pick the wrong one and feel disappointed. But the more your experience in choosing lingerie, the easier you pick the right one.

  14. 9/11/15 So this is how my experience with adore me.com has gone. This is my message to them AGAIN today.

Seeing as how I have been sending emails to your company since Monday without the decency of a return email or phone call I thought I would try this as my last ditch effort. On Sunday the 6th I signed up for adore me and ordered my first set for $19.95 which just shipped.

On Monday the 7th I tried to order two different sets with the labor day coupon and it wouldn't allow me to use it. None of the reasons given applied. So aggravated that I was unable to use the Labor Day coupon on Labor Day I searched your site and found other sale items. I tried to order two different sets that plainly state they are on sale for $19.95 and yet when I went to check out it tried charging me full price for both sets. I have taken pictures of the website and the pricing as well as a picture of the screen that came up telling me I could not use a Labor Day coupon on Labor Day and have sent three to four separate emails sense Monday asking for someone to contact me regarding this issue but have been ignored. Not impressed for my first order as a VIP member and false advertisement comes to mind. I am hoping that somebody who reads this has the decency to actually get ahold of their very dissatisfied customer

The two sets I am trying to order for the $19.95 that it is advertised as you can plainly see (had pics of website and prices as proof) is the pink Carmelina and the new Delphine

Now mind you the very last picture I downloaded off their website yesterday

My messages were seen immediately by the adore me administrator on Facebook and yet somehow they still haven't had the decency to at least tell me "we received your message" or "someone will get ahold of you as soon as possible" or "someone is checking into the issue and we will get back"... NOTHING. They read this message and looked at the photographs of their website that I sent and I have still heard nothing.

Then I posted my previous paragraphs on every post of theirs on Facebook and said I'd continue to do so until I heard from someone and, miracle of miracles, FINALLY someone answered my message as well as deleted every one of my posts LOL. They said they'd look into it but of course when I replied back almost immediately to say thank you I found that they blocked me from sending messages and posts on their page and have gone dead silent again as well as STILL no answers to my emails. Obviously no one will ever contact me as they have no intention to do anything other than take your money and ship packages, anything beyond that they ignore. That's wonderful customer service, professionalism and ethics right there. I saw quite a few comments on their page about their terrible customer too. Canceling my membership IMMEDIATELY

  15. 10/20/15 So after going through all that *** with adore me.com with them refusing to provide me with any form of customer service via their site and Facebook I had written several bad reviews on several sites about my experience.Of course adoreme.com replied to my negative reviews almost instantly offering to help me with any of my problems but of course that was just for show under these sites to make themselves look good because even though I provided my information, AGAIN, still no one has gotten ahold of me.

I have followed the adoreme.com explicit instructions on how to cancel your VIP membership. I have requested on four separate occasions a cancellation of my VIP membership because of the treatment I have received and yet they are still contacting me regarding my credit card information, which I cancelled my card, because they cannot charge my account for my VIP membership. You know the one that I've cancelled on four separate occasions and keep getting a confirmation of cancellation on. Oh, did I mention that the cups on the bra they sent me on my first order are two different cup sizes?

Bad product, rude employees, still trying to rape my account after confirming my cancellation. Please tell EVERYONE you can about this terrible rip off company

  16. I ordered from the Adoreme.com site three set of bra/panty. When I received the merchandise it was too small. The site states true to size and that is what I ordered my bra and panty size that I would usually wear in the garments if I had purchased from a department store. I called and requested a return which was granted and approved. The items were sent back, unworn and in the original packaging and shipping box within a week of receiving them. They received my returned items a week later. I waited another week and called to inquire about my refund to my bank card. At this time the CSR advised me it had yet to be processed and to call back in two weeks. I again called today to speak to a CSR about my $149.85 refund. I was informed that although the company determined the items had not been worn, they deemed them "dirty". How can they be dirty if I could barely try them on and placed them immediately back in the packaging? I was also inform I would receive neither a refund or a credit. Really? For returning unworn perfectly returned merchandise? A company that has it's items returned and refuses to refund $149.85. I don't even want a credit from this company. I will never buy anything from them nor any other company associated with Adoreme.com. Your merchandise is not true size, poorly made, and your customer service policies are fraudulent. I have pruchased many items from other online merchants and shopping networks and never encountered policies as yours . I have contacted my bank and the BBB and filed a complaint against Adoreme.com and I will be receiving my $149.85 back to my bank account one way or another!

  18. I have at LEAST 10 pair sets, 2 corsets AND 2 pair of pj's. All be it , I am a very small person. I find that they fit perfectly and are durable and very cute and sexy. Heck, yes, you get what you pay for. But the SAME bra's at Victoria's Secret will cost you twice the price and that doesn't include the panties. Forget buying a a pair of pretty pj's.......VS's UGLY pj shirts cost you 40.00. I think you were expecting them to be the magic pill for sexy. It's too bad that you found so much wrong. I love them.

    1. There is no magic pill for sexy and I never wanted that. I wanted bra shopping options, and Adore Me was one that did not pan out due to fit issues. Some brands just don't work for some people.

    2. Quick question for you: I am 5'1 and 105 lbs. the only place I have bought bras from in the last few years is Victoria's Secret and I know their sizing runs smaller than other places. I wear a 32D at VS and based on the AdoreMe site's measurements, I should be ordering a 32A on their site. Does this sound correct based on your experience with their sizing/ordering?? Any help would be appreciated. :)

    3. Carlin - I hope this reply gets to you! If it does, please email me and we can continue the conversation (char362@gmail.com)

Sizing is hard. Some brands use a specific sizing that's just a little off of exact measurements, other brands use measurements, and even with both of those, different styles of bra will fit differently. The only way to know what size will fit you is to try it on.
I know that Adore Me's creators have heard some of the feedback from customers and say they are trying to make the whole process better and easier. If you want to order from them, just go into it knowing that you may need to exchange for another size.
I played around with the new sizing thing on AdoreMe and it seems somewhat accurate for what I currently wear in other brands. Read through the return and exchange policy, order in the size they recommend, and give it a try!

  21. I've had good and bad experiences with adoreme. Unfortunately, when you have a bad experience it tends to be real bad. They finally did address my issue. It took around 4 weeks though and many phone calls. Their customer service is in another country so they aren't very connected to the orders that go through a warehouse in New York. They duplicated several of my orders and told me to send them all back, then reorder. I had to hound them to receive a refund. . I am now skeptical. I tried ordering a set again because I'm 2 sets away from my free set. They didn't give me my credit for my free set. My bank was charged 3 days ago and they still haven't shipped my package.

  22. For me so far Ive only ordered from them once which was recent. I didn't have trouble with the sizes except I ordered the panties to big but my bras fit perfectly. I went online and they gave me an option of returning the items or to exchange them. I went with the exchanged option and was given a return label to print and gave me steps to follow which was helpful. It gave me voucher codes which I used in my next order and got a set free. So far I haven't had trouble but I'm still a new customer so who knows what troubles might lay ahead.

  23. PLEASE DO READ: I just recently made a purchase to AdoreMe on the 8th of January, 2017; my payment went thru on the 9th--- over $100.00 in merchandise which I was very excited to make my purchase because I did not read any reviews yet until after the fact.
On the website, it says orders are received and processed within two to three days... now mine had been processing for about six days before I sent the the first e-mail to customer support... to which I only got an automated response. For the last three days I've sent e-mails and had not heard back even an automated reply this time so I called customer support to see what was going on.
After calling twice I finally got through to which the woman said she didn't know why my order was still just processing or why no one had responded to my e-mails and she would look into the matter and e-mail me back. Now I had gotten a prompt e-mail back from her explaining that she still did not know why my order was only still processing but that she would let me know when it did go through to be shipped... now I sent her an e-mail back as quickly as she responded asking that they just cancel my order and refund my money because I was not happy with the process and didn't even want the product anymore... no e-mail back... I e-mail again... nothing...
So I call up again and get through right away to another woman who told me that "unfortunately at this time, there is no way to refund my purchase even though my order has not yet shipped and there is nothing that I or she can do about it." So they took my money right away and even though my order has not yet been processed or shipped, I cannot cancel my order even though it has been over a week and nothing has happened aside from them taking my money. I'm even afraid to cancel my account because god forbid I need to return the merchandise and they will probably give me just as hard a time anyways. She gave me a $10 voucher towards my next purchase which I would love to have told her to stick it you know where but I know there really isn't anything they can do about it and I'm sure, based on the reviews I've now read, that they get this all day, every day.
So now I am stuck $100.00 out, with no way to get my money back and no merchandise or any idea on when I will or if I will ever see said merchandise... also-- the reviews they share on their website are fake-- there is no where to write your own review and I thumbs downed them all and when I came back to the page they were all back to the same numbers...
NEVER AGAIN-- THIS COMPANY IS NOT GOOD AND HAD I READ THE REVIEWS FIRST I WOULD HAVE NEVER EVEN TRIED... BETTER OFF STICKING WITH VICTORIA'S SECRET i AM SO PISSED OFF AT THE WAY I'VE BEEN TREATED HERE.

  24. Here is a review I wrote on Adore Me! I work for another lingerie subscription company so we decided to try them out ... I end up talking a lot about the quality of their products in relation to their price point. I also break down this idea of "designer lingerie" and the standards it entails. I'm sure you all love lingerie as much I do so let me know what you guys think! https://theenclosed.com/blog/adore-me-quality/
